S: (Scripture) Proverbs 19:17- Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.
O: (Observation) Some of my happiest childhood memories are of the little mini trips that my family would take on weekends. I also remember the absolute tantrum-throwing nightmare that I used to be. I remember being ten years old, sitting in the backseat of the car, and eating snacks while being stuck in traffic. A man walked up to our car asking for money. My parents, being the companionate and loving people that they are wanted to help. However, my parents didn’t have any cash so they asked me to give my twenty dollars to the man. And I said no. Looking back, it’s really funny to think about how I held on to my twenty-dollar bill for dear life( a businesswoman from day one), but at the time the thought of losing it truly devastated me. My father did end up finding some money to give to the man and as we drove away my mother gave me her phone and made me read Proverbs 19:17. It’s a lesson that I have never forgotten. We are God’s instruments, his tools. He uses our hands and feet, our finances, our gifts and talents to help those who are in need. When we are kind to others, when we give to others, when we love others we are loving God, giving to God, and showing kindness to God. And if that wasn’t amazing enough, God rewards us for helping his children who are in need.
A: (Application) I apply this personally in my by choosing to give back to God when I receive the blessings that he provides. I want God to be the center of every part of my life and that includes my business. That is why I match every order that I receive and donate a bar of soap to a child in need for every bar of soap purchased.
P: (Prayer) Heavenly Father I thank you for who you are and for the many blessings that you have given me in my life. Help me to serve others, show kindness to others, and to show love to others, Amen.
